Shenyang Xinle Site Museum holds a simulated archaeological open day
  The Shenyang Xinle Site, as an important cultural relic of prehistoric humans throughout the country, records the history of human activities in Shenyang 7,200 years ago. It is not only the basis of archaeological research in Northeast China, but also the root of the cultural context in which the site is located. 2013 is the 40th anniversary of the discovery of the Xinle Site. The Xinle Site Museum launched a series of commemorative activities: "Me and Xinle" series of essays, paintings, photography, calligraphy solicitations, and simulated archaeological practice activities.
   On the afternoon of July 27th, the Xinle Site Museum will hold simulated archaeological excavation practices and the "Me and Xinle" series of essay awards. This simulated archaeological project provides an internship project for those who are keen to visit ancient Xunyou and archaeological practitioners to participate in the archaeological excavation of cultural relics. Through the on-site explanation and demonstration of the archaeological excavation process by experts, the basic knowledge and skills of archaeological excavation are taught. Participants conduct simulated archaeological excavation practices on site, so as to experience the scientificity, mystery and sense of accomplishment of archaeological excavation. Teachers and students from the Frontier Archaeology Center of Jilin University came to the simulated archaeological site to teach excavation knowledge.
  At the same time, our museum held an award ceremony for "Me and Xinle" prize-winning essays, paintings and calligraphy works. This call for papers is to promote traditional Chinese history and culture, popularize historical knowledge, and increase citizens' awareness of the value of important historical relics, and achieve the role of centralized publicity, popularization of culture, and publicity of the Xinle site. The event received strong support from related units and cultural and cultural enthusiasts. A total of 26 solicited manuscripts, 7 photographs, 3 paintings, and 2 calligraphy were received. The author includes school students, government officials, ordinary workers, retired workers, and military soldiers. The impact far exceeds our expectations and achieves the purpose of popularizing and inheriting historical and cultural knowledge and promoting traditional culture. Zhang Lianxing, director of the Museum Division of Shenyang Cultural Heritage Bureau, presented awards to the winners.
The Shenyang Xinle Ruins Museum will recruit personnel for essays, paintings, calligraphy works and simulated archaeological activities for a long time.
